Radiation Guide
The invisible killer
Radiation zones are some of the most dangerous areas on the map. You can't see radiation, and by the time you feel its effects, you may already be in serious trouble. This guide covers how contamination works, what gear protects you, and how to treat radiation poisoning.

How Radiation Works
Radiation zones spread out over a radius. The closer you are to the center, the higher the radiation level. Here's what happens when you enter one:

Radiation Treatment
Radiation poisoning requires specific anti-radiation medications. Early symptoms include weakness, nausea, and dizziness. In later stages you'll experience bleeding, severe health loss, and body exhaustion. Get treated early.
| Name | Level | Form | Duration | Overdose |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| B190 | Lv.1 | Tablets | 2.3 min | 0.3 |
| Potassium Iodide | Lv.1 | Tablets | 1 min | 0.2 |
| Hexacyanoferrate | Lv.1 | Tablets | 2 min | 0.3 |
| Mexamine | Lv.2 | Tablets | 25 sec | 0.75 |
| Pentacin | Lv.2 | Ampoule | 6.7 min | 0.5 |
| Carboxyme | Lv.2 | Ampoule | 10 min | 0.6 |
| Radioprotector | Lv.3 | Injector | 10 min | 0.75 |

Protective Gear
To safely enter a radiation zone, you need a full protective suit. On the edges where exposure is weak, a gas mask alone may suffice. Deeper in, you need everything. Each body slot has a different weight toward your overall protection:
Protection Weight by Body Part
| Body Part | Slot | Weight | Impact |
|---|---|---|---|
| Face | Gas Mask | 2.5 | 41.7% — the most important piece |
| Torso | NBC Jacket | 1.0 | 16.7% |
| Legs | NBC Pants | 1.0 | 16.7% |
| Feet | NBC Boots | 0.5 | 8.3% |
| Hands | NBC Gloves | 0.5 | 8.3% |
| Head | NBC Hood | 0.5 | 8.3% |
NBC Gear Protection Levels
| Item | Protection |
|---|---|
| Improvised Gas Mask Filter | 70% |
| Gas Mask Filter | 90% |
| Military Gas Mask | 95% |
| NBC Jacket | 95% |
| NBC Pants | 95% |
| NBC Boots | 95% |
| NBC Hood | 95% |
| NBC Gloves | 95% |

Dosimeters
Dosimeters measure radiation levels around you, on contaminated items, and on your character. Different dosimeters have different ranges and detection radii. A long-range dosimeter lets you detect zones before walking into them.
| Dosimeter | Max Reading | Detection Radius | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| DBG-05 (Household) | 999 mR/h | 1.5m | Checking items up close |
| Pripyat | 999 mR/h | 3m | Precise readings in low-rad areas |
| MKC-01A | 9,999 mR/h | 5m | General-purpose zone detection |
| CDV 700 | 5,000 mR/h | 10m | Early warning at distance |

Decontamination
After leaving a radiation zone, your gear and clothing are contaminated. They will continue to irradiate you until cleaned. You can decontaminate items using:
- ■ A large amount of clean water
- ■ Soapy solution
- ■ Special chemical agents

Protective Containers
Protective containers prevent radiation from contaminating items stored inside them. Essential for carrying valuable loot through radiation zones.
| Container | Capacity |
|---|---|
| Radiation Protection Box | 60 slots |
| Radiation Protection Suitcase | 35 slots |
